**The GHCA is looking for one person to fill a vacancy on the Board of Directors.  The Board meets the once per month on the second Tuesday of the month.

Firehouse building committee – Gloria said they are down to around 3 choices of builders who are completing the plans for room layouts.  They are spending a lot of time in the design phase so in the future there will be no need to issue change orders, ailment pharm which is expensive.  Over the next month will get idea of sq. footage and cost to build.

Landlord, Rentals and Regulations ordinances –   The Town Counselors seem to be still undecided on the last ordinance regarding maintenance or abandoned and foreclosed properties.

South Street Armory – Developers are currently negotiating with town.  There may be an issue around tax exempt status of armory being leased by a for-profit business.

The GHCA will host a candidates’ night in October – after primary – before general election.

Should we schedule Brian Mannal to come to the July Board meeting?  We will develop list of questions for next BOD meeting for him to attend in July.

June BOD meeting – Invite LAPC and water board to June meeting.  The Cotuit and West Barnstable fire departments have passed laws that allow them to give back money to town from their collections.  Can we do the same?

The Board is looking for volunteers to help with maintaining our garden spot at the corner of South and Pleasant Streets. Jay Doherty has agreed to mow grass this year.  Milton will remain as chairperson of garden committee.  All interested members are asked to contact Milton Berglund at m.berglund@att.net or cellphone 617-571-6205.

Harbor Hotel on Ocean Street – Developers going before planning board on June 10th.  Members of the GHCA will attend the planning board meeting on the 10th and decide at June 11th Board meeting whether or not to support hotel or invite developers to come to August meeting to answer more questions.

Paulette Rio gave a status update on the July 4th parade.  Requests for volunteers will be brought up at the annual meeting and an email will go out before June 1st.  This year we will need ~30 volunteers to help with the bike contest/parade, the banners, and handing out flags along the parade route.  Meaghann Kenney from the Town will be providing parade posters and also bike contest posters for us to distribute.   Joe Chili has volunteered to call 4 fire departments to give instructions on July 1st.
