The Fire Station Subcommittee of the GHCA Board drafted a second letter after reviewing the redrawn plans.  This letter was submitted and discussed at the Fire Station meeting on Monday August 12th.

The following topics were discussed at the August 2013 Board of Directors Meeting.

Kris Clark, Chairman of the Barnstable Land Acquisition Preservation Committee provided a detailed over view of what land abuts our zone 1 and zone 2 wells.  Some of these issues are currently being addressed by the Hyannis Water Department.  It was also felt that if the LAPC, capsule the GHCA, and the Water Dept. together sent letters of concern (ie., the proposed bike path), some head way could be achieved.

Fire Department Report:   The GHCA voiced its concerns for the Fire Department’s ability to find a temporary location during construction and keeping costs for renovations to a minimum.  A number of the GHCA sub-committee did attend the Fire Department Building Committee meeting on 8/12/2013, in which the first floor lay-out was presented.  A second session will be held on August 28th to present the second and third floors.

There will be a GHCA general membership meeting on September 24th, at 7PM at the Town Hall (still need to confirm the place) and the topic would be to meet your Councilors prior to the election in November to discuss issues. Brian Manual will be asked to attend also.   The Board will be developing list of questions for this meeting.  More information on this to follow.

All Landlord, Rental and Regulation ordinances brought before the Town Council several months ago have now been enacted into law.  Job well-done to Laura Cronin and her team.

The Nominating Committee recommended and the Board unanimously approved the BoD membership of Ellen Brady.
